You might see some of the essential components like your lights working, but they tend to be much dimmer than you are used to. A dead battery is often a problem when it comes to dealing with your vehicle and this will reroute the power it has left. While this is not specifically aimed at the BMW brand, it can happen to almost any modern vehicle. I often like to include the dead battery for numerous issues that are associated with BMW. One of the most common reasons for this to happen might be after a service or update of the software. A standard software glitch is not that uncommon and in many cases, you will find that it simply needs a reset. The software can often make or break the car and this might cause a few problems when it comes to fixing the screen on your BMW. Nowadays, vehicles rely heavily on the software inside the car. Here are a few reasons why this could happen. However, it might also immediately go dead again, which could lead to a completely blank screen. I will be eternally grateful.Occasionally, you might notice that the BMW screen does turn on. And if someone knows someone, who can fix my iDrive controller, please share their contact here. I thought I will share my experience here. I am still looking for a competent tech, who could fix this issue locally or remotely. He was able to restore the sound and CD player functions. Eventually, I paid someone $150 online to code my CCC unit remotely. I tried many Indy's and they were nonthewiser. Sadly, I am based in Saudi Arabia and the dealer here was looking at my kidneys for the programming function. I had to pay around $600 to get a replacement used CCC unit from eBay. A weak battery on E60 can cause all kind of crazy things. My CCC started playing up (rebooting randomly etc) and eventually died, and it was later found out, this was due to a weakening battery. Is it possible by opening the ignition connector the car disabled?Īny help or suggestions would be appreciated. checked under the seats to see if anything disconnected. Pulled the CD/DVD/Radio unit from the dash and checked the connections and 20A fuse - all good and tight. Looked inside the white control box under the spare tire - clean. I can hear the NAV DVD spinning on start up and then I hear it now and then, so it is getting power. Did this a couple more times and then the screen remained blank. Got to the BMW screen and it rebooted itself. Started up the car and the system started it's boot sequence.
